Victorian Ballroom

Designed by the Scottish architect David Bryce, the Ballroom was completed in 1876 and is Scottish in style and setting and gives a sense of scale, elegance and grandeur for a wedding for up to 220 guests.

Created for the 7th Duke of Atholl to host lavish events, our grand ballroom has excellent acoustics, a large stage, a fine dance floor and an atmospheric lighting system; all the ingredients for an amazing day.

Banvie Hall

Adjoining the Ballroom and accessible via a ‘secret’ door, the Banvie Hall is a contemporary option within the castle for a ceremony or reception.  More often than not, the Banvie Hall provides an extension to the Ballroom for your welcome reception, a bar or location for cutting your cake. The glass wall frontage provides a view of the magnificent grounds of the castle and of the surrounding hills.

State Dining Room

With delicate Georgian plasterwork, ceiling roundels and picturesque views across the hills of Perthshire, the elegant Dining Room is one of the most romantic rooms in the castle. Our formal dining room can accommodate wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions for up to 120 guests or up to 50 seated for a wedding breakfast.

The Library

Our historic library is not open to our visitors to the castle so this intimate room can be used to use as part of your special day or as a stand-alone option. The library is suitable for smaller weddings for up to 40 people for a ceremony or a drinks and canapé reception.

With such spellbinding rooms at your disposal, Blair Castle’s highly experienced events team ensures that all aspects of food, wine, accommodation and event management match the splendid surroundings.

To enhance the sense of arrival which your quests will enjoy, you can choose to serve drinks and canapés for up to 40 guests in the Front Hall. Imagine the thrill as your guests walk into the castle on a red carpet, to be greeted with drinks and canapés, the whole scenario completed with a piper!

Entertainment can also be arranged, including Scottish dancing, fiddling or singing. A harpist makes for a delightfully civilised accompaniment to dinner, whilst the castle’s Bechstein grand piano can be made available to approved players. And for a rousing conclusion, why not bring in a Perthshire pipe band to beat the retreat with pipes and drums in front of the castle, by the light of our living flame flares.

Sophisticated lighting systems installed in the Ballroom and Banvie Hall enable you to create the mood to suit the occasion.
